The extraction shooter *Arc Raiders* has quickly established itself as a standout hit of 2025, but its rapid popularity has inevitably introduced a significant challenge: cheating. Following widespread and vocal frustration from legitimate players, developer Embark Studios has formally addressed the issue, announcing that major new anti-cheat measures are imminent.
In a statement shared with the community, Embark confirmed they are taking the concerns “very seriously” and are actively translating player feedback into action. The studio promises that over the next few weeks, they will be implementing “significant changes.” This rollout includes crucial updates to their core Anti-Cheat systems, which are intended to dramatically improve cheat detection capabilities and expedite the banning of offenders. Specific client-side fixes are also coming, notably addressing the notorious “out of map glitch” that has plagued some encounters. Furthermore, Embark plans to introduce dedicated tools for streamers to help combat stream sniping.
While a firm deployment schedule for these measures was not disclosed, this announcement arrives shortly after other recent changes to the game’s backend. Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund recently revealed that the game quietly adopted “aggression-based matchmaking.” This new system modifies traditional skill-based matching by factoring in a player’s combat engagement likelihood, ensuring that lobbies are not only balanced by skill but also by how readily players enter the fray.
