It looks like Xbox is continuing its push to bring more of its acclaimed titles to rival platforms. Obsidian Entertainment’s sprawling fantasy RPG, *Avowed*, which initially launched in 2025 exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PC, is officially making the jump to PlayStation 5. The news dropped during the recent New Game+ Showcase, confirming that Microsoft, which has owned developer Obsidian since 2018, will publish the title on Sony’s console starting February 17, 2026—just shy of its first anniversary.
*Avowed* is a first-person action RPG set within the established lore of the *Pillars of Eternity* universe, where players utilize a potent mix of melee combat and arcane magic to fight off a mysterious plague. Fortunately for PS5 owners, the console launch is not just a simple port; it coincides with a massive anniversary update that will roll out across all existing platforms, bringing substantial new content.
This universal update introduces a robust New Game Plus mode, allowing veterans to challenge modified enemies while retaining their equipped items, though resetting back to level one. Furthermore, players can look forward to three additional playable races, a new weapon class, a dedicated photo mode, and the convenient ability to alter their character’s appearance instantly within the game world. Importantly, the PS5 version will launch fully featured, incorporating every single piece of post-release DLC and patch released on PC and Xbox to date.
