Here’s What Sophie Turner Will Look Like As Lara Croft In Amazon Prime’s Upcoming Series

Amazon Prime is on a roll with high-profile video game adaptations, and the latest project to get an update is the live-action *Tomb Raider* series. Following major news earlier this week regarding *Fallout* and the casting for the *God of War* series, Prime Video has finally delivered a first look at Sophie Turner in costume as the legendary adventurer, Lara Croft.

The new image, which Amazon shared as a “wardrobe test,” reveals that the show is heavily leaning into Lara’s original, classic aesthetic, moving distinctly away from the grounded look of the recent “survivor trilogy” reboots. Turner is depicted in the explorer’s iconic gear: a teal tank top, rugged shorts, and crucially, dual holsters strapped to each hip. Adding a deep-cut nod for veteran fans, she is also wearing the red, circular-lensed sunglasses famously featured on the cover of *Tomb Raider III*. While Turner’s initial casting spurred some debate among the community, seeing her fully costumed suggests that the production is keen on respecting the roots of the character.

The series is currently in production with Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (*Fleabag*) serving as the creative driving force, fulfilling the roles of showrunner and writer. Turner is joined by a formidable cast that includes Martin Bobb-Semple, Sigourney Weaver, and Jason Issacs—recognized by many gamers as the voice of Lord Gortash in *Baldur’s Gate 3*. This return to Lara’s vintage look is part of a larger push by the *Tomb Raider* brand for its 30th anniversary, aligning with upcoming game releases like *Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis*, a remake of the first game, and the all-new 2027 title, *Tomb Raider: Catalyst*.
