TITLE: WoW Players Might Be Able To Charter Their Own Neighborhoods Soon
For those enjoying the recently introduced player housing feature in *World of Warcraft*, the current neighborhood system has provided a nice communal touch. However, options for controlling who you share the digital landscape with have historically been somewhat restrictive. Currently, players can either settle down in a public neighborhood, which is open to anyone wandering by, or they can opt for the secure, guild-exclusive communities that restrict residency only to fellow guild members.
It seems that Blizzard is preparing to roll out a much-requested third option, greatly enhancing player control and customization. Data appearing in the ongoing beta for the upcoming *Midnight* expansion points to the imminent arrival of “invite-only charter neighborhoods.”
While the feature isn’t completely wired up and functional just yet, players testing the beta have discovered UI options allowing them to name and purchase these private housing hubs. This discovery strongly implies that players will soon be able to form their own exclusive, curated communities outside the existing public and guild structures. This added flexibility should come as welcome news for players who want to build a small community specifically with friends, without the obligations of being in a single dedicated guild. Housing customization in Azeroth is about to get a lot more social—and selective.
