Marathon Launches In Early March

Bungie has officially pulled back the curtain on the long-awaited launch date for *Marathon*, their upcoming multiplayer extraction shooter. Players should mark their calendars for March 5, the day they can suit up as bio-cybernetic Runners and begin scavenging for resources on the volatile planet of Tau Ceti IV. This release date was revealed alongside a new trailer showcasing the high-stakes action where Runners must battle both rival player squads and persistent in-game security forces for survival and loot.

The journey to launch hasn’t been entirely smooth for the title, which was first announced in May 2023. *Marathon* was pushed back from its initial September release window following mixed player feedback from its Alpha test and a resolved art plagiarism controversy that occurred during development. Despite the developmental bumps, anticipation remains high, fueled in part by a surprisingly star-studded voice cast. The game features industry heavy hitters like Samantha Béart and Neil Newbon (*Baldur’s Gate 3*), alongside Ben Starr and Jennifer English.

The revival of the classic franchise will land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will launch with two purchase options: a $39.99 Standard Edition and a $59.99 Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe package includes a Premium Rewards Pass Voucher and multiple exclusive cosmetic weapon and Runner shell styles. Furthermore, those who pre-order any edition will receive various in-game cosmetics for *Marathon* itself, plus a bundle of UESC-themed exotic Ghost, Ship, and Sparrow rewards for *Destiny 2* players linked through their Bungie.net account.
