Lenovo Legion Go 2 SteamOS Edition Revealed

Despite the rapidly growing ecosystem of handheld gaming PCs, the preference for Valve’s SteamOS over Windows remains strong due to its superior optimization for portable devices. Catering directly to this demand, Lenovo is officially launching the Legion Go 2 featuring SteamOS preinstalled. While the company recently introduced the Legion Go S with the same operating system, the Legion Go 2 is positioned for gamers prioritizing heavy-duty performance and the flexibility of its unique, detachable controllers. This new edition is scheduled to begin sales in June, with an entry price starting at $1,199.

The Legion Go 2 arrives packing impressive internal specifications. The premium configuration features the powerful AMD Z2 Extreme processor, backed by a generous 32GB of DDR5 RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a long-lasting 74Wh battery. The base model is slightly adjusted, utilizing the standard AMD Z2 SoC and 16GB of RAM, but maintains the 1TB storage and the same battery unit. Regardless of the internal hardware chosen, both systems feature a highlight element: a stunning 8.8-inch PureSight OLED screen, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate and VRR for buttery-smooth visuals. Combined with the signature detachable TrueStrike controllers, which support transitions between handheld, tabletop, and FPS modes, the Legion Go 2 aims to be a top contender in the performance handheld segment. While pre-orders are not yet live, interested buyers should anticipate listings appearing soon on major platforms like Best Buy and Amazon.
