Marathon Launches In Early March

Bungie has officially set the launch date for its highly anticipated multiplayer extraction shooter, *Marathon*. Players can finally mark their calendars for March 5, the date when they will begin their high-stakes scavenging missions on the hostile planet Tau Ceti IV. The title is scheduled to arrive simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

In this new iteration of the classic Bungie franchise, players step into the shoes of bio-cybernetic characters known as Runners. Survival hinges on scavenging vital resources while simultaneously fending off rival player-controlled Runners and aggressive in-game security forces. This announcement comes after a few bumps in the road; the game was delayed indefinitely from its initial September window following a rocky alpha test reception and the resolution of an earlier controversy regarding its art direction.

The extra development time has culminated in a polished release boasting significant talent, including an extensive voice cast featuring RPG veterans like Samantha Béart and Neil Newbon (both known for *Baldur’s Gate 3*), and Ben Starr (*Final Fantasy XVI*).

*Marathon* will be available in two distinct purchasing tiers. The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition comes in at $59.99. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition offers several in-game cosmetics for players, alongside exclusive rewards redeemable within *Destiny 2* (such as an Exotic Ghost, Ship, and Sparrow). The Deluxe Edition further sweetens the package by including a Premium Rewards Pass Voucher and a variety of unique cosmetic styles for both weapons and Runner Shells.
