Nintendo is pulling the plug on a favorite cost-saving mechanism for its loyal fans: the Switch Game Voucher program. This initiative, exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) subscribers, allowed players to purchase a pair of vouchers for $100. For titles typically retailing at $60, this meant a handy $20 discount overall, effectively saving players $10 per purchase on highly sought-after first-party releases that rarely see deep sales.
Unfortunately, the window to acquire this discount is closing fast. Nintendo confirmed that the sale of new vouchers will cease permanently after January 30, 2026. If you are an active NSO member, this is your last chance to buy into the program.
While this marks the end of new purchases, existing, unused vouchers will remain valid, though users must be mindful of their limitations. To redeem a voucher, an active NSO subscription is required, and the voucher itself expires precisely one year from the original date of purchase. If you’ve been sitting on a major title or planning a future release, now is the time to secure the discount before the deadline hits. Players can easily check the validity of any stored vouchers via the Nintendo Switch Online section within their account settings.
