CEO Of Lies Of P Publisher, Neowiz, Talks 2025, Overture Expansion, Release Strategy, Gen AI, And More

Neowiz co-CEO Sean Kim recently reflected on the publisher’s wildly successful 2025, a year that saw the company significantly exceed financial expectations, largely thanks to the phenomenal reception of *Lies of P*. Kim emphasized that the accompanying *Overture* expansion proved instrumental, driving new player adoption and solidifying the Soulslike title as a pillar franchise for Neowiz moving forward. While few details are available, the highly anticipated *Lies of P* sequel is currently deep in development at Round8 Studio.

Looking ahead, Neowiz is focused on building long-term IP, defining their strategy as prioritizing “content + fans.” This approach is guiding the internal development of over five new PC and console games spanning diverse genres. Neowiz is also investing heavily in external collaborations, partnering with Western studios like Wolfeye and Zakazane, and successful local Korean indies, seeking partners who can build IP at scale.

Regarding technological advancements, Neowiz confirmed it is actively leveraging Generative AI internally. The company is researching automation tools to enhance publishing efficiency—specifically streamlining routine operational tasks, like analyzing large volumes of data and processing test cases—allowing human teams to focus on core strategic decision-making.

Kim also noted a significant industry pivot in South Korea: many traditionally mobile-focused companies are aggressively shifting toward PC and console development due to intensifying mobile market competition. Despite this shift, Neowiz’s existing mobile portfolio remains strong, with *Cats & Soup* celebrating its fourth anniversary and surpassing 60 million downloads.
